Dani Williamson is an American film/video artist and occasional noise maker creating digital, interactive, and celluloid experimental works which explore the tensions between virtual and physical space and how those places are experienced by others. A primary focus of their work is to investigate questions of “place-ness” and the phenomenology of the in-between. The projects created are typically large scale video projections that engage with surrounding communities, with musicians, and immediate locations. More recent projects include site-specific, sound-responsive audio-visual performances in collaboration with composer Orr Sinay and musicians from the contemporary and experimental music scenes in Israel. Dani graduated in 2014 with an MFA in Digital Arts + New Media from UC Santa Cruz (USA) and in 2011 with a BA in film from SIU, Carbondale (USA). Currently living in Haifa, Israel. |
