Ptilia is an experimental ensemble of musicians and visual artists exploring the outcomes that exist within liminal spaces - the in-between - through interdisciplinary collaboration and time-based (durational) events. A main point of interest in many of our projects is the phenomenology of the limits of human perception, and its convergence with the limits of technology. What happens on the edges of listening, in the meeting points of the physical and the virtual, between human memory and machine “memory”? We focus on creating new live performances which encourage new experiences of sound and image, and ask such questions about how these convey a sense of place.
I serve as co-creative director, performing member and producer of the ensemble since its establishment in 2022.
